I took up ceramics when my children were discovering lots of new fun activities, and an itch emerged to do the same. I'd always wanted to have a go on a wheel since I'd been a child, and so my journey began.
Over 10 years on now, I am still engrossed. I love to throw on the wheel as well as hand build round bottomed organic pieces. Being a highly practical person I concentrate on producing pieces that can be used in every day life.
I live amongst incredible forests and lanes and am a bit of a magpie, always collecting and gathering as I go. I find and press leaves and grasses and flowers to adorn my work with. I am inspired by the look of cyanotype photos too and love to give the effect of a reimaging of the plant on my work. I mix my own glazes and slips with natural oxides and stains. My goal is to make everyones favourite items to use and enjoy everyday.
